A Repossession Order case number shall be assigned to any Repossessions cases for any petition to take back property from a buyer because payments are not being made.
A Name Change case number shall be assigned to every Name Change Case filed in Meskwaki Nation Tribal Court
Appellate case number shall be assigned to every Appellate case.
A Marriage case number shall be assigned to all Marriages held in Meskwaki Tribal Court or by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Judge.
Types of Cases
A Foreign Judgement case number shall be assigned to any Judgments held in any other court outside Meskwaki Nation Tribal Court.
A Miscellaneous Remedy case number shall be assigned to complaints seeking review of every other case or decision that does not fall in any other categories listed.
A Damages case number shall be assigned when someone is seeking cash compensation ordered by the court to offset losses or suffering caused by another's fault or negligence.
These cases are brought by the person seeking to be appointed guardian or by someone else in the family asking the court to appoint a guardian.
Custody case number shall be assigned to every Custody case.
An Adoption case number shall be assigned to every adoption case.
Administrative Appeal case number shall be assigned to every Administrative Appeal case.
A Paternity case number shall be assigned to every Paternity case dealing with the rights and obligations of both the biological or natural father and the child to each other as well as others.
A Protection Order case number shall be assigned to any petition for an order of protection or any petition for a civil contact order that is filed separately from an existing case.
A Small Claims case number shall be assigned to a civil action based on either tort or contract for money not in excess of $5,000, exclusive of interest and costs, or for the collection of taxes not in excess of that amount
A Restraining Order case number shall be assigned to any cases issued to prohibit an individual from causing harm or fear toanother person by ordering the abuser to have no contact with, or to stay away from, the victim.

Child Support case number shall be assigned to every Child Support case filed in Meskwaki Nation Tribal Court.
Child In Need of Assistance shall be assigned to every Child in need of Assistance case.
A Dissolution case number shall be assigned to a complaint for dissolution of marriage, annulment, or separate maintenance.
A Meskwaki Nation Child Support case number shall be assigned to every child support case filed by the Meskwaki Nation Child Support Office.
