The Public Defender’s office represents the criminally accused and defends the rights of those who have an annual income that falls below the Federal Poverty Guidelines, or who cannot afford to hire counsel.

The office of the Public Defender was created in 2015 when the Tribal Court was awarded a grant to fund the position.
